Last-Minute Limo Booking in Edmonton: Is It Possible? (Yes, Here's How)

2026 Guide  ·  ~6 min read  ·  By Katch A Limo

Yes, you can book a limo in Edmonton the same day, and often within a couple of hours. It depends on the day of the week, the vehicle you want and how fast you can confirm. Here is how last-minute bookings really work, what your chances are on a given night, and the quickest way to lock one in.

Can you really get a limo on short notice?

Most of the time, yes. Limo companies keep vehicles available for exactly this: a flight that got moved, a birthday someone forgot to plan, a group that decided at 6 PM to go out properly. At Katch A Limo we run a five-vehicle fleet and we answer the phone 24 hours a day, so a same-day request is a normal call for us, not an exception.

The honest caveat: short notice means you take what is available. On a random Wednesday that is probably every vehicle we own. On a Saturday in June it might be one.

Your odds, by day of the week

Here is roughly how availability looks for a same-day request in Edmonton.

  • Sunday to Thursday: excellent. Most vehicles are free and we can usually be at your door within one to two hours of confirming.
  • Friday evening: good, but call early. The stretch limousines go first; the executive SUV and shuttle bus are often still open.
  • Saturday evening: possible, not guaranteed. Wedding and party bookings are made weeks ahead. If something is free, it is because a slot opened up.
  • Peak dates: grad season (late May and June), New Year’s Eve, Oilers playoff nights and big concerts at Rogers Place. Same-day availability on those dates is rare. Book ahead.

Which vehicles are easiest to get last minute

Smaller vehicles are easier to book on short notice, simply because they are booked less often for events.

  • Executive SUV (6 passengers): the most available vehicle in our fleet. Airport runs, dinner, a small group heading to a show.
  • White shuttle bus (20 passengers): often open on weeknights. Good for a corporate group or moving guests between venues.
  • Stretch limousines (6 and 11 passengers): the first to go on weekends. Weeknights are your best bet.
  • White party bus (20 passengers): the hardest to get on short notice on a Friday or Saturday. Call anyway; cancellations happen.

The fastest way to book a limo today

If you need a vehicle in the next few hours, do not fill out a form and wait. Do this instead.

  • Call (780) 722-3070. A phone call gets you an answer in two minutes. We can tell you immediately what is free.
  • Have the essentials ready: pickup address, pickup time, destination, number of passengers, and roughly how long you need the vehicle. That is everything we need to quote.
  • Be flexible on the vehicle. If the stretch is out, the SUV or shuttle bus may be right there.
  • Confirm fast. A 50 percent deposit by e-transfer holds it. On busy nights a vehicle can be gone in the time it takes to think about it.

If you have a bit more time, our online booking form works too. It comes straight to us on WhatsApp and we reply quickly.

Does last-minute cost more?

Not automatically. Our rates are based on the vehicle, the hours and the day, not on how far ahead you booked. A same-day booking on a Tuesday afternoon costs the same as one made a month earlier.

What does change is your options. On a busy night you might only have the larger vehicle available, and that costs more per hour than the SUV you had in mind. That is a supply issue, not a surcharge. For a sense of what things cost, see our Edmonton limo pricing guide.

Common last-minute situations we handle

The airport run. Flight changed, a colleague landed early, or someone just wants to arrive properly. Our chauffeurs track flights and adjust timing on their own.

The spontaneous night out. Dinner turned into a plan, and nobody wants to drive. A four-hour block takes the group out and brings everyone home. Our River Cree and night-out service is built around exactly this.

The forgotten milestone. A birthday or anniversary that snuck up. A limo turns an ordinary evening into the occasion it should have been.

The corporate save. A client visit moved up, a rental fell through, an executive needs a car in an hour. This is one of the most common reasons companies keep our number. See our corporate service for how accounts work.

The game. Tickets came through at the last second. We know the Rogers Place drop-off and we know the traffic.

What a last-minute booking looks like, step by step

Say it is 5:30 PM on a Thursday and you want a limo for 8 PM.

  • You call. We check the schedule while you are on the line and tell you what is open.
  • You pick the vehicle and give us the pickup, the plan and the passenger count.
  • We quote the trip. You send the deposit by e-transfer.
  • You get a confirmation with the chauffeur’s details.
  • At 7:50 the vehicle is outside. The whole thing took ten minutes on your end.
